A little more finished on this painting.  The horse is basically done.  I will go back over it towards the finish to see if anything needs tweeking. I started on the little girl in the picture and am thinking about the color I want to make her t-shirt.  She is wearing a striped t-shirt originally, but I think I may want to make it pink like her helmet.  We'll have to see once I finish her skin and hair.

It has been a few weeks since I posted.  I was working on my new website  Art of Patricia Barmatz.  Feel free to take a look.  I have finally gotten back to this painting.  I am almost finished with the horse and am trying to decide what type of background I want.  That is always the hardest part for me.  I don't think I want to put the barn in the background, so I will have to think more about this.  Here is where I am at now:

Here is another update on my painting.  I have worked on the eye a bit and the buckle.  The two photos show different colors, one is bluish and the other is more brown. The actual colors are closest to the close-up painting.  I may go back and add some more browns later, but for now I will keeping going forward with these colors.

New Art Work in Progress

I thought I would start showing the newest piece of art that I am working on.  I will be updating the pictures as I progress.  This is not the best picture, but I will get better pics on the next updates. The paper is actually white not blue.

This painting is of a horse stretched out with his upper lip curled upwards and a little girl laughing at him.  I really enjoy painting horses and children together. The children are always so fun to watch around the horses.  So far on this painting, I have worked the neck of the horse and I am starting on the his face.  The horse is quite dark which I may lighten up later once I see the rest of the picture develop.  I have it drawn out with the barn in the background at this time, but again am thinking about changing that also. But we'll just have to see where my mood is when it is time to work the background.

I am pretty new to the whole blogging thing.
